Lady Hester arrived from the Finnish port of Hamina early on Monday, 18 June, to discharge a full cargo of timber at the Packet Pier in Wicklow port. This marks her second visit to the port, her first having taken place in April 2025, when she discharged a similar timber cargo also from Hamina. Operated by Wijnne & Barends, Lady Hester was built in 2011 as part of the Lady H class of vessels operated by the Dutch company.
Lady Hester has a retrofitted exhaust gas cleaning system fitted behind the funnel, commonly known as a scrubber. This is to filter emissions from the diesel engines, before they are released into the air.
Lady Hester was photographed on the 23 June, as she departed for Derry in glorious sunshine. So far this year, we have seen three vessels from the Lady H series calling at Wicklow Port. The ship arriving is Wilson Hawk, her last port coincidentally was also Derry. She went on to load scrap metal at the Packet pier for Portugal.
