The Baltic Shipping operated Lafjell was a noble visitor to the port this month, arriving from Liverpool on the 12th November to load recyclable metals at the Packet pier. Lafjell departed at teatime the following day, heading south for the Spanish port of Pasajes. She was built in 2001 at a Dutch yard as Dependant, and took her present name in 2021, transferring to the Norwegian flag.
Abis Bergen’s visit to Wicklow in November 2013

looking back through my archives, l found these digital photos taken around this time in November 2013 of Abis Bergen, arriving at Wicklow port to load out refuse derived fuel (RDF).

The ninety metre vessel built in the Netherlands in 2010 is designed for handling oversized and project cargoes like wind turbine blades. In 2017 she was renamed Peak Bergen and remains under the Netherlands flag.
